Review: NYX Powder Blush in Desert Rose

(Retyping this post because the mobile WordPress app screwed me up. How could you do this to me WP?!!)

Ahh, NYX. A brand that has been raved about by beauty bloggers and vloggers everywhere… and with good reason. Not only are NYX products affordable, they perform well too.

Today I’m going to review one of NYX’s powder blushes in the color Desert Rose.

You see, I’ve always envied people who can achieve the “just came from winter and I’ve just shoveled snow off my porch yo!” or “just came back from the cold” flushed look. While it may seem impossible in my hotter than the core of the Earth tropical country, I’ve found the next best thing in achieving my much coveted rosy flushed cheeks in Desert Rose.

Desert Rose is a warm, rosy pink (almost berry) color. It gives a very true to the pan color payoff and is very, I repeat, very pigmented. Use a light hand with this blush or you shall suffer the disgraced clown cheeks don’t say I didn’t warn you, Bonakid!. NYX describes this formula as matte but if you look closely in the pan, there is some visible shimmer. This shimmer, however, comes off undetected on the cheeks. It is long-wearing too, lasting for 8 hours or so on me.

See that beautiful shade of pink?

Being my first NYX product, I am very pleased with Desert Rose. I’m definitely going to try more of their powder blushes. I have my eyes on Bourgeois Pig and Pinched next. 😉

  1. I haven’t tried any from NYX but I’ve been seeing bloggers using NYX cosmetics and they said those are good products. Made me really want to try one.

  2. I LOVE NYX BLUSHES. Well, mostly for their insane colour collection, but Desert Rose and Dusty Rose have been on my ‘want’ list for the longest time now. I have Pinched but don’t wear it too often, but I adore Summer Peach and Mocha.

    • Ah, well you should definitely buy those colors soon and tick ’em off your want list. 😉 I also want to try NYX’s cream blushes next! 🙂
